Start
Chris – Newport. My journey's at its start I've been told. I’m 18, starting a career and live for now. I have so many plans which involve spending all that cash I haven't got. I've never saved, so that six month trip down the equator's going to need the online saver.
Charlotte from Harrogate. I am a student about to embark on my journey to university later this year. It’s going to be a financial struggle trying to afford accommodation with a full time course and part time job. I will be responsible for myself for the first time.
Marcela from Lytham St Anne’s. We have adopted a baby so I would like to be able to spend more time at home without having to work full time.
Neil from Fulham. I used to save my pennies in a jar but recently have included all coins less than a pound which has really made a difference. It's all about the big shiny 50ps!
Matthew from Rotherham. Always trying to make ends meet just before pay day. I always try and make sure that at least I've got some food in and cut out going to the pub for a few days saves a bob or two.
Joanne from Ashford - My biggest wish is to visit my favourite aunt in New Zealand and have registered for 'Save the Change', it's a start!
Janice from Brackley - I plan to live in New Zealand after a divorce and years of unhappiness. This will be the start of my new life.
Joe from Brixton - I thought my life would be like your lovely wheel that got me here. I am probably most like the lady with the egg waiting for it all to happen. I have started budgeting after 31 years of life and I am trying to pay off my debts.
Lindsey – Wakefield. I’ve always been on a journey. At the moment my journey has been the same one: family and working as a teacher. Now as my children are getting older I find myself making wonderful plans to change the direction of my journey. A year working abroad? Opening a café and bookshop? As I get older I feel I need to be more spontaneous, flexible and unpredictable. Who knows where my journey will take me.
Chris from Farnborough. Looking to start a family - what could be a bigger journey!
Stephen from Swindon. I start in New Zealand where I met my wife and we decided to buy a property over there. After having a beautiful daughter we decided that it was time to move over to England where we currently live. We still ensure we get back to New Zealand on a regular basis!

Insurance
Sebastian - Sutton Coldfield. Having recently bought a brand new car I had a series of faults not covered by insurance or warranty. I am a graduate just starting my career and I don’t have a lot of money to throw around. I have to say that I have banked with Lloyds for over 5 years now .
Lisa – Ellesmere Port. Lust summer, as I was slipping off to sleep one night, a fire was smouldering in my garden shed. The whole thing burned down, and as it spread the fire got dangerously close to the house too. Thanks to the fire brigade it was extinguished in the nick of time before the fire reached my house. And thanks to Lloyds TSB insurance, I was soon sitting in my new lounger with a cold drink before the summer was extinguished too!
Susan – Maesteg, Bridgend. The man I married lost his eye doing work in Iraq. He was insured and the payment bought us a little cottage in his home town of Maesteg, Bridgend. We need to extend our cottage so our family can visit and stay.
Ruth from Newtown. My journey needs some glamour. I would like to buy a new car, something vintage, classy, powerful and gorgeous!
John– London. Earlier this year my student house was burgled. My laptop, camera and TV were stolen. Luckily they were all covered by my house insurance!
Mark from Hove. My interest is in cars, and my car costs a lot of money to run, so I look forward to pay day every month.
Christine from Salisbury. My grandfather was one of 13 children and the whole family is spread worldwide. I would like to take my sons on a trip to meet their unknown relatives before they leave my nest. The journey would involve going to Australia, NZ, Canada and Bermuda.
Louise from London. I am about to spend two months travelling to Australia and have had to save hard recently! I am worried about my savings when I return as I would like to buy a house in the next couple of years. I have an online saver and would like to take full advantage of it.
Richard from Bishops Stortford. I am saving for a new car and I can't wait to be driving round country lanes with the top down and the wind in my hair!
Fiona from Barnetby. My partner and I have just bought our first house which needed modernising with things such as a new hot water tank as we didn’t have any hot water and a new front door as we couldn’t open the old one. My partner proposed on New Years Eve and we are planning to wed.
June from Haywards Heath. I promised myself a Porsche when I reached 50. I didn't get the Porsche but have an MG instead. With that milestone gone my next Big Birthday (in about 6 years time) is spurring me on to venture on a cruise.
Ian from Swindon. I’ve just bought my 1st home and am about to embark on a new journey after years of renting and paying off student debts - I've had an account with Lloyds since I was born and finally I'll be paying off a mortgage.

Day to Day
Neil – Oxford. Saving regularly into my Lloyds TSB Cash ISA has helped me secure my children’s' future and now that two of them are over 16 they've started their own ISA savings too.
Barbara – Llanelli. My son has worked hard to reach university and now he is there he has very little money to live on. I would like him to feel financially secure so that he can concentrate on his studies without worrying about money for his accommodation and everyday needs.
Eric from Gosport. What I do to save the pennies until payday is put some of my money into a savings account and invest half of it. In case of emergency I can make use of the saved and invested money.
Tracy – Falkirk. Went to Dublin to see Travis as I was unable to see them in Glasgow. First time flying so I was nervous but did it and very proud of myself. Dublin was great fun. The venue in Dublin was a great place to see a band. As all good tourists should we went to the Guinness factory and had a nice cool Guinness in the highest bar in Dublin.
Heidi – Shephards Bush. My husband and I got married in October 2006. We love to have coffee in the mornings outside and where we live does not afford us easy access to our shared garden as we live on the 1st floor. We would love to add a garden roof area right off our bedroom. The space wouldn't be huge but it would afford us space of our own and the ability to spend quality time together with a cup of coffee before our hectic days begin.
Roger– Burnham-on-Crouch Essex. A successful life’s journey is keeping an eye on the future whilst carrying out ones daily tasks in relation to that future.
Suzanne from Enfield. Having left university and moved to London I always have to count the pennies...with a gorgeous boyfriend I want to get married and start a family soon and any extra money I can save would be of great use.
Lynette from Aberdeen. Seems we have always been saving. Bought a flat last July and thought that would be it for a while and we would enjoy the money instead of saving it. Now we plan to get married next year and have had to start saving again. Hopefully after that we can move somewhere with more space.
Daniel from Lincoln. I am starting to plan to travel to Koh Toa, a small island off the coast of Thailand to participate in voluntary work, teaching local children about conservation, making the area a better place and generally to give something back to people less fortunate than myself.
Pamela – Derby. My journey, from my wheelchair, is one of utmost joy. I take great delight in simply being here, I’m always cheerful because there’s no point in being miserable. My life is filled with love and laughter with some amazing experiences thrown in, I’d love some extra cash to travel further!
Lian – Glasgow. I am currently expecting baby number one so every penny seems like a prisoner just now, as I try to save to make my little one’s entrance into the world as nice as possible.
Simon – Royston. I was once above the water, living life to the full, then I turned 18 and I could drive. I had so many financial commitments. Since then I have been slowly sinking month by month, until now I have hit rock bottom with an overdraft and other commitments. Once I have paid that off I will be back on my feet. I have already started saving away. From here I want to save and invest for my family and my future.
Leanne from Catterick. I am counting the pennies until pay day as I have to save for a holiday.
Madeleine from Westcliff on Sea. Saving pennies to enable my children to have Piano lessons. I inherited a beautiful Baby-grand piano which nobody can play! I think it is so important for children to have the opportunity to play musical instruments at a young age.

Business
David from Taunton. I took the step towards being my own boss a year ago choosing to bank with Lloyds TSB. The business is now set to take off!
Silvano from Hull. At the moment I am a student of computer systems engineering. I would like to start my own internet based business but being a student and working as a freelance I cannot really save money enough to start just now.
Karen Day – Northamptonshire. I started up a new business because I wanted a new adventure as I had got so bored with my job. My problem was it just didn't differ from day to day so I decided I wanted to start my own home business selling children’s items online. It's been a lot of fun and a lot of hard work has gone into it.
Sarah – Fareham. Discovering the benefits of being self employed and teaching french which is great. This has been, and still is a journey as I am learning each day new ideas on teaching. My business account with internet banking really helps me plan my day to day running of my business, therefore letting me concentrate on my life more easily.
John Hailes – Blakeney, Gloucestershire. After forty five years working in a ford main dealership I retired and bought a plant nursery. It is now a garden centre and successful after nine years of work with my family working to build it up.
Diane from Liverpool. I would love to be able to run a pub with my partner and getting my licence is proving quite expensive. It would the best thing for me and my partner to be able to live this dream.
Annalisa – Newcastle. I would love to start my own online business. As a mother to an 8 week old baby sometimes I find it hard to walk out the house like I used to, and have realised that there are thousands of mothers out there in the same boat. I would love to have my own online baby business, selling all baby products from clothes to nappies. Hopefully this can help other stay at home mothers to shop online for baby products that can be delivered quickly to their door.
Angela – Doogan. I’ve been in the same job for nearly eleven years. I turn forty this year. Do I need to say more about how I feel it’s time for a change? I want to start my own business called “Tout Suite” which would sell stylish time-saving products for women. I have just applied for a design right on my first product. I have more confidence now than in my twenties however with a mortgage, bills etc, I don’t have more money.
Jane –Biggleswade. Trying to start a business on a shoestring – it’s hard work. Wonder if it’s worth getting a loan to help.
Jacqueline – Clydebank. I am a professional photographer whop wants to start their own business. Photography is my passion and it shows through in my images. It’s my life’s love. I want to make my dream become a reality and I am sick of working for someone else! I want to be my own boss!
Kulvindderjit - Birmingham. I would really like to open up my own beauty salon. I am 27 and I have the problem of financing it, but it would be a dream come true.
David – Bristol. I would love to start my own painting & decorating firm.
Lesley from Dursley. We have always wanted to own and run a village shop/cafe and sell Fairtrade products. We can't afford to do it at the moment but one day. We have promised ourselves we will. We have been reducing our overdraft and putting money aside.
Jean from Malton. I am coming to the end of an art degree course. I'm starting a web based magazine and also teaching a series of art classes. I hope to be fully self employed by the end of the year. Making a new start at 50 is exciting and a little scary.

Relationships
Gemma – Bath. My journey has been a little creative of late, or should I say “ours”. 1998: Met second day of uni. 2001: Doug and I travelled. 2002: First home and job. In subsequent years we have moved five times, travelled across the world, split up for a year, purchased a property each and got back together. June 2006: Got engaged under a tree. Sept 07: To be married! And 07: Set up our own business. We have a dream and a will to succeed. We’re unique and that’s how we plan to stay.
Joanne from Chislehurst. My wedding will be on 070707. Getting wed on that date as my fiancé is a 007 fan. We would like a chauffeured Aston Martin, diamond rings as diamonds are forever, cocktails shaken not stirred, fireworks to go out with a bang and helicopter to fly us off into the sunset.
Jack from Rugeley. My Journey began on the 8th February 2007 at 5.25pm when my little girl was born. Sleepless nights, baby sick and crying tantrums…oh the joy...and then to follow I am getting married on 12th May 2007. Then we are planning on saving for our deposit on a house.
Janine from Whitehaven. We are going to Colorado to a place called Loveland and getting married there on the mountain between two states on. I will wear a beautiful wedding dress and my partner would like to wear a replica of the 95th rifles uniform (think TV’s Sharpe!)
Rachel – Norwich. I've had accounts with Lloyds TSB since I was born which my parents set up for me, in which I saved birthday & Christmas money, until I got my 1st wage. Now at 32 I am due to marry my partner of 7 years in 2008. We are saving as much money as we can, and forfeiting a holiday this year as we are saving for the wedding and hoping for a honeymoon. All being well we can move out of our 1 bedroom flat and settle down with a promising future ahead, both personally and financially. Thanks Lloyds!
Matthew – Swansea. My girlfriend one day came out with, “I’ve always wanted to be a Disneyland Cartoon Character”. So for her birthday I want to whisk her away to Paris, and into the theme park, where I hope to arrange a one-day career as a cast member. And whether as the parade and her day fanfares its way to the end, or as we observe it from the side after a day on the rides, but definitely while she is wearing one of her smiles, I’m going to ask my friend, my love, my Cinderella, if she will also be my bride.
Vicki McGregor – Upper Beeding. My husband and I got married in September 2005 and couldn't afford a honeymoon. We would love to go somewhere exotic and romantic before we start a family.
Josephine – Brighton. Having just given birth to our son we want to look after him and provide for him in the best way that we can.
Laura – Witham. I am getting married to the love of my life on the 29th September this year. I am looking forward to walking down the aisle towards him and walking out with him as his wife. I have been dreaming of this day for the last 10 months and it is only 4 months away.
Portia Mangope – Gloucester. When I met my partner nearly 3 yrs ago it was just like any other relationship but I grew to realise she was an extraordinary person whole heartedly kind, giving, forgiving and loving. We entered into a civil partnership a month ago and I’ve never been happier.
Louise from Urmston. My fiancé and I recently got engaged on top of the Eiffel Tower. We are 21 years old and have been together for six years. We have just booked our wedding for July 2008.
George from Bournemouth. My fiancée and I are planning to get married. It's something we're only going to do once and it lasts a lifetime so we want to do it properly. That means eighteen months of working long, hard hours and saving every penny. So I've opened two savings accounts.
Joanna from Wallington. I would like to surprise my boyfriend with a nice holiday. He works very long hours and 6 day weeks. I think a nice relaxing holiday will not only give him the well deserved break he needs but it will allow us to spend some time alone together.

Property
Alastair from Southampton. It's that time, it's time to buy a house. I've been saving since the day I knew the value of money and now that I've met the girl I want to spend my life with it's time to get our own place. It's amazing how much houses are!
David from Fareham. I have just moved into my first house and started to save with “Save the change” as this will help me to buy small purchases for my house. My parents have helped me out a lot on this journey from home and I hope one day I can thank them properly.
Edward – Milton Keynes. At the moment I’m living with my parents, slowly saving up to move out with my girlfriend. Mum and Dad are lovely, but they’re driving me mad!
David – Melton Mowbray. On along journey, patience is not only a virtue – it is a necessity. We bought our house 16 years ago, and since she was a child, my wife has always wanted a horse (as do many young girls!). We decided if the field next to us ever came up for sale we would do everything we could to buy it. Well, eventually last autumn it did, and we did. We now plan to continue this “journey” by building a stable and manger – and acquiring a horse (and now also a pony for my daughter!!).
Anthony from Birmingham. Buying that first home, the place to start your family and settle down to a good life. The biggest struggle at the moment is to take that first step to own your own four walls - it is here where I have arrived this is the start of my journey.
John – Maidstone. I want to extend the back of my house so that I can fit a grand piano in it to let my gifted son play and play and play!
Ruth – Farnborough. My husband died unexpectedly last summer and now I plan to live in France and rent my property in England to provide an income. Scary but we had planned to move to France when we retired together so I will do it for his memory too.
Marie from Wallasey. I am saving up every penny I have for a deposit on a mortgage. I have signed up for “Save the Change” so each time I use my debit card the extra pennies go straight to my savings account. It is hard saving up but I know it will be worth it in the end.
Matthew – Walsall. Me, my boyfriend and my pet dog Dhanna all bought our first home recently. We are happily living together, saving and building for a bigger and better home, well some of us do, certain others just lounge about waiting for their bellies to be scratched!
Damian – Birmingham. I am about to start a new career as a Police Officer in another country. I would love to go on a big holiday and do up my house so I can start my new career afresh.
Tina from Gorleston. To invest in a property which we will use as long term security for our son. He is 5 but by the time he wants to join the property ladder he will find it really hard. This way we will be able to help him.
Katherine from Stockport. My journey involves ensuring my future is secure. We are planning to move into property to fund our retirement.
Rachel from Helston. To get the deposit on my first house, aged 24 its about getting the first step on the ladder!

The Future
Matthew from Ottery. I have recently booked a holiday to Florida. It is not until next year, so in the mean time I need to save, save and save! I have just opened an Online Saver account with Lloyds TSB to start putting my savings in there. I have re named it my Florida account!
Richard from Stratford. I am saving with my Lloyds TSB Monthly Saver to go back on holiday to Australia.
Paul – Westbury. I plan to live self sufficiently in Cornwall with pigs, chickens, cows and ducks and I will power the house with green alternatives.
Lee – Carlisle. I would like to be able to save to give my children in the future a good start in life. I have not saved much in the past, but I am not getting any younger and would like my future children to be more secure.
Diana from Wimbledon. After a fair journey through life I am looking for a job to help save for my old age.
Sue – Birmingham. My future journey hopefully involves my beautiful six year old daughter making the most out of life’s adventures, travelling the world, going to university and making her mark on this world of ours. Mummy's journey will be making sure that I am always there.
David – Grimsby. This summer I hit 60. I plan to finally take it easy and go and get a suntan. But not a suntan for the skin. Instead I am hoping for a suntan for the mind. I will kit myself out with a previously unaffordable 60gb iPod, a better PC and a Plasma TV.
Frank – Chippenham. I joined the army at 14 and the military opened my first Lloyds account for me. I served all over the world before leaving to become a full time professional football manager. Two great careers but now I want a third - I want to write a book – ‘Football management for Dummies’! I may well have to use my Lloyds card to ensure the family eat whilst I pursue my next dream!
Ian – London. When I retire, I want to go and sit by a loch in Scotland and just pass away the days, sipping on whiskey and letting my mind relax after a few decades of hard work.
Witold from Bicester. I am planning to do the Trans Siberia express with a friend to follow the journey my dad took when he was a prisoner of war in a Siberian Gulag during WW2. I need to save for this as it is a big expense.
Thomas – London. I am currently travelling through the world of first year university. It has been a fantastic year and I have enjoyed every minute so far. I have met an incredible girl and have fallen madly in love with her. The future looks bright.
Lynn Beedie – Montrose. I have just had a baby girl. After trying for 8 years and 2 losses we eventually have her but maternity pay does not go very far. We are planning a christening for our daughter in the summer and extra cash would be handy.
Jayne from Widnes. My Journey is about providing a future for my 3 year old son. I have been married to a wonderful man for the past 9 years and am so blessed with my family that I just want our journey to be a happy one which the 3 of us can enjoy.
Camille from Heathfield. I've been saving for a new horse trailer and have found "Save the Change" an excellent way of topping up my monthly savings. It doesn't feel like you're stripping yourself of your monthly pay packet.
