Add Vantage to the Gold Account

Our Gold Account with Vantage offers the same great benefits as the Gold Account but also pays up to 4.00% AER (3.93% Gross). Rates are tiered and variable, 0.10% AER/Gross interest is paid monthly on balances up to £1,000 and you can earn up to 4.00% AER on your whole balance if you keep between £5,000 and £7,000 in your account. For other account balances the rate varies depending on how much is in your account.

Get Vantage for no additional cost
Earn interest on your current account for no additional cost. To earn Vantage interest rates, all you have to do is pay-in at least £1,000 a month into your account and stay in credit.

You’ll earn the standard interest rate for your account when you don’t meet the Vantage conditions and on any money in your account from £7,000 onwards.

To get this you need to:

  • Pay in £1,000 a month, e.g. your salary.

  • Worldwide Travel Insurance - for you and your partner. If you or anyone covered under the policy has any existing medical conditions, and you wish to apply for cover for these conditions, please either give us a call or notify us online.
    Making a claim could not be easier. All you need to do is telephone the dedicated claims team. If you would like claim for travel delay, make a claim online. If you are abroad and in need of assistance then please contact our 24 hour assistance helpline.
  • AA Breakdown Cover - You are automatically covered for AA Roadside Assistance.

Wherever life decides to take you, your Gold Account will be there to help. Whether you’re at home, on the move or at work, you can be flexible about how you bank with us – on the phone, face to face or over the internet.

Account opening is subject to our assessment of your circumstances. You must be 18 or over and a UK resident to apply.
Interest paid monthly. AER (Annual Equivalent Rate) – the rate if interest was paid and compounded once a year. Gross rate is the contractual rate of interest payable before the deduction of income tax at the rate specified by law.

For each month that you meet the Vantage conditions, interest is calculated daily on the balance of your account at the relevant Vantage interest rate from the second working day of that month. The interest is paid into your account at the end of the first working day of the next month. Rates are correct as at 2 February 2009.
