So if you’re in doubt, contact your card issuer directly. All of the other Sentinel® Card Protection benefits on the Gold Account will remain the same. Get interest - at no cost

With Vantage you get up to 3.00% AER variable (2.96% Gross) interest for balances from £3,000 up to £5,000 paid monthly to supplement your income. All you need to do is, stay in credit during the monthly billing period, and pay in at least £1,000, for example your salary, each calendar month. Interest won’t be paid in any month when you don’t meet the Vantage conditions or on any money in your account above £5,000. Vantage Interest rates are tiered on balances up to £5,000 when you meet the Vantage conditions.

Interest rates are variable. Customers are limited to a total of three Vantage Accounts.

Interest rates apply to your whole balance. For example, if you have £4,000 in your account you will receive an interest rate of 3.00% AER on your entire balance.

Vantage Interest rates are tiered on balances up to £5,000. To get interest paid each month, all you need to do is:

  • pay at least £1,000 into your account during the calendar month, and
  • keep your account in credit during the monthly billing period.

Please note. We do not pay interest on amounts above £5,000.

  • Worldwide Travel Insurance - for you and your partner. If you or anyone covered under the policy has any existing medical conditions, and you wish to apply for cover for these conditions, please give us a call.
    Making a claim could not be easier. All you need to do is telephone the dedicated claims team. If you are abroad and in need of assistance then please contact our 24 hour assistance helpline.
  • AA Breakdown Cover - You are automatically covered for AA Roadside Assistance.
  • Switch your bank account to us – If you have an account with another bank, we can help transfer all your Direct Debits and standing orders to your new Gold Account. All you need to do is complete our simple online form.

  • Internet Banking - a free service where you can pay bills, transfer money and set up standing orders. Try our

  • Self-Service - take advantage of our Self Service to help manage your account.
  • PhoneBank® - call 0845 3 000 000 24/7 for all your banking needs.
  • Mobile Banking - helps you to keep control of your finances when you're on the move. Access your UK personal current, savings and credit card accounts via our Mobile Banking app or via your mobile browser. You can also sign up for Text Alerts to help you keep an eye on your balance. We don't charge you to use Mobile Banking, but your mobile operator may charge for some services, so please check this with them.
  • You need to register for Internet, PhoneBank®  and Mobile Banking. Terms and conditions apply.
  • Find a Branch or a Cashpoint® - need to locate a Branch or Cashpoint®.

Apply or upgrade to a Gold Account 

Account opening is subject to our assessment of your circumstances. You must be 18 or over and a UK resident to apply.
Interest paid monthly. AER (Annual Equivalent Rate) – the rate if interest was paid and compounded once a year. Gross rate is the contractual rate of interest payable before the deduction of income tax at the rate specified by law.

For each month that you meet the Vantage conditions, interest is calculated daily on the balance of your account at the relevant Vantage interest rate from the second working day of that month. The interest is paid into your account at the end of the first working day of the next month. Rates are correct as at 2 February 2009. AER (Annual Equivalent Rate) – the rate if interest was paid and compounded once a year. Gross rate is the contractual rate of interest payable before the deduction of income tax at the rate specified by law.
