Get more interest - at no cost

If you pay in £1000 a month or more, you can add Vantage or Plus to your Classic Account for free.

With Vantage you get up to 4.00% AER (3.93% Gross) for balances from £5,000 up to £7,000 paid monthly to supplement your income. All you need to do is, stay in credit during the month, and pay in at least £1,000, for example your salary, each month.

You’ll earn the standard interest rate for your account when you don’t meet the Vantage conditions and on any money in your account from £7,000 onwards.

Add Plus to the Classic Account

If you use an overdraft and don't keep much money in your current account, then add plus to your account and get 2.5% AER (2.46% Gross) on balances up to £2,500. As with Vantage, all you need to do is pay in £1,000 a month.

If you already have an account with Lloyds TSB and you’re registered for Internet Banking adding Vantage is easy and hassle free - just log on to Internet Banking and click on the upgrade link next to your account name.

As a Classic Account customer you can take advantage of the many Lloyds TSB services that we have on offer.

  • Save the Change® - we’re the only UK bank to offer Save the Change® - a unique way to save every time you use your Lloyds TSB Visa debit card when your account is in credit.
  • Mobile Banking - includes a range of Text Message Services and our Mobile Banking Application - a simple application you download to your mobile phone, so that you can use your phone to keep up-to-date and in control of your finances.
  • Switch your bank account to us – If you have an account with another bank, we can transfer all your Direct Debits and standing orders to your new Classic account. All you need to do is complete our simple online form.

We’ve designed an add-on for the Classic Account that’s all about making it easier for you to manage your money. It’s called Control, for £10 a month it can help you stay on top of your finances and avoid Unplanned Overdraft borrowing.

  • Ordering a PIN by text - If you have lost your PIN try our text service so that you don’t have to go into branch, or send a request by post.
  • Order a cheque or paying-in book by text - if you have misplaced your cheque of paying-in book order one quickly via your mobile phone.

Account opening is subject to our assessment of your circumstances. You must be 18 or over to apply.
Interest paid monthly. AER (Annual Equivalent Rate) – the rate if interest was paid and compounded once a year. Gross rate is the contractual rate of interest payable before the deduction of income tax at the rate specified by law.
Calls may be monitored and recorded in case we need to check we have carried out your instructions correctly and to help us improve our quality of service.
