It’s simple to open an account with us. Normally all you need is your passport or ID card.

Our bank accounts
For customers who are new to the UK we recommend our Silver and Classic Accounts*. Both accounts include a VISA debit card and provide other great benefits.

  • Our Classic Account provides you with free everyday banking as long as you stay in credit.
  • Alternatively you may find that a bank account held offshore is more suitable for your needs. For example, If you are likely to move between countries rather than be resident in the UK, a Lloyds TSB International Account may prove more tax efficient. You can also open an account in Euro or US Dollars, as well as Sterling.

This account currently has a great offer of £3 a month for the first two months, after this it is £7.95 a month.

When you’re ready to open your Lloyds TSB account, just bring your passport or EU/EEA ID card into your nearest branch*. That is usually all we will need, but occasionally we may need to ask you for a second piece of identification. One of our staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have and explain our different accounts.

What proof of identity can I use?

If you are an overseas student you will also need to provide a letter from your university or college. It should be on letter headed paper and confirm you have a guaranteed place on a course that is longer than six months, and show your start and graduation dates.
