I use Internet Banking

To start using Money Manager log on to Internet Banking and select one of the Money Manager links on the Your Accounts page. Then follow the instructions on screen and you’re ready to go.

I have a personal Lloyds TSB account but don’t use Internet Banking

Money Manager is another great reason to sign up for Internet Banking. With Internet Banking you can see and search your statements, check your balance, manage Direct Debits and standing orders, move money and pay bills – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It’s quick and easy to register.

Using the Dashboard

When you start Money Manager the first thing you’ll see is the Dashboard, which shows you at a glance where you spent your money this month.

A pie chart gives you your top spending categories. Underneath the pie chart you’ll see a calendar showing your regular incoming and outgoing payments for each month. You can click on an entry to see more detail.

Calendar view

The calendar view in Money Manager automatically shows your regular monthly incoming and outgoing payments. You can:

  • choose the date when your calendar should start,
  • choose the accounts you want to include,
  • add reminders to the calendar.

Adding a reminder to your calendar does not authorise the payment – it just reminds you that you need to pay it. To make or amend the payment, set up the payment instruction separately by going to the Your accounts overview page in Internet Banking.

Spending analysis

The Spending analysis shows you in detail where your money goes. Here you can set up Money Manager to make it more useful for you.

  • Change the date range
You will automatically see this month’s spend but you can change it to any month or to a whole year.

  • See individual accounts
Money Manager starts by showing all of your accounts together, but you can see them one at a time by clicking Change view.

  • Change categories and add sub-categories
You can change the categories that Money Manager uses to make them more personal. Just click the Transactions tab at the top of the page and choose the date range and the spending category you’d like to see. When the list of transactions appears, click the transaction category you’d like to change, then choose a different subcategory from the list or create a new one by selecting Categorise.

  • Categorise your transactions
To add a category to uncategorised spending, select the Transactions tab at the top of the page, choose the date range and then select the Uncategorised spend view. Click the Categorise button next to the transaction you’d like to change, then choose a category and sub-category from the list or create a new one.

  • Split transactions across categories
Sometimes you might want to split a transaction across more than one category – for example, if you buy food and cleaning products in a single supermarket shop. In the transactions tab, click the Categorise button next to the transaction you’d like to split. Then select the Split transactions link and enter the amounts to allocate to each category. You can split each transaction across up to 5 categories.
  • What is Money Manager?

Money Manager is a free, easy-to-use service for customers registered for Internet Banking that introduces a great way of keeping track of your money across your Lloyds TSB personal current and credit card accounts.

It automatically breaks down most of your spending into meaningful categories, such as entertainment, food and travel, using easy-to-read graphs that give you a fuller picture of where your money goes.

  • How much does Money Manager cost?

Money Manager is free, and is available to all Lloyds TSB personal current and credit card account customers.

  • Which accounts are covered by Money Manager?

Money Manager covers your personal Lloyds TSB current and credit card accounts. You can see all your accounts together or just choose to view the ones you’re interested in.

  • Can Money Manager cover joint accounts?

Yes. You can choose to remove joint accounts from the service if you prefer.

  • How is my spending analysis categorised?

When money goes into or out of your account, Money Manager tries to automatically put the transaction into a spending category.

If you want to group a particular area of spending under a different category, you can create a new subcategory or give the existing one a new name. Then you can move the transactions to your new category names.

  • What are the Money Manager categories?

The default Money Manager categories include household goods, entertainment and leisure, clothing and personal care and groceries, amongst many others.

Within these are lower-level categories for more detailed analysis. You can even create your own personal spending subcategories to suit you.

Where possible, Money Manager automatically allocates your transactions to the right spending category.

  • Can I change the categories for my transactions in Money Manager?

You can move a transaction from one category to another, and you can also create new lower level categories. So, if you want to keep track of how much you spend on a hobby, for instance, you can have a special category for it.
