Joint Savings accounts

Joint accounts

Let us help you

Share the benefits

Joint savings accounts can help you save towards your shared goals quicker, such as holidays, a large purchase, or even a deposit on a house. With a tiered interest savings account, you could even earn a higher rate of interest. As long as the other party also has a Lloyds TSB current account you can add them to your savings account.

Joint savings accounts allow 2 parties to maintain an account, with equal responsibilities. This means both can deposit and withdraw money independent from the other party.

How it works

  • Both parties can manage the account independently through branch, Internet Banking and PhoneBank®, if registered.
  • Each person can make withdrawals and payments without needing the approval of the other party.
  • Both of you can set up standing orders and sign up for Save the Change® independently, maximising the amount you save.
  • Each person is issued with Cashpoint® card where applicable.
  • You may not be able to open joint accounts all savings products, such as ISAs.
  • The other person needs to be over 16 years.

Opening a Joint Savings account

You can add someone else to your existing Lloyds TSB Savings account by downloading the Joint Savings account form or at your nearest branch.

You can open an account online in your name only and add someone else to your account at a later date. View all savings accounts.

Closing a Joint Savings account

Either party can request that the account be closed at your nearest branch. However, if we become aware of a dispute between you, we may take steps to prevent any of you giving instructions or using the account individually until the dispute is ended.
