As your bank, we’re committed to making your Internet banking experience as safe as possible. We use the latest online security technology to protect your personal information and privacy.

We also keep you safe by:

  • Using fraud detection systems that highlight any unusual spending patterns on your account(s) – this means we may call you if unusual transactions appear on your account (calls may use automated speech).
  • Asking you to enter three random characters from your ‘Memorable Information’ using drop-down menus – this prevents someone from using keylogging software or taking your complete log on details at any one time.
  • Automatically logging you off if you don’t use Internet banking for 10 minutes – this limits how long Internet banking is accessible if you forget to log off or leave your computer.
  • Temporarily disabling access to your account if there are a number of incorrect log on attempts - this protects you from fraudsters trying to guess your details.

On top of that, we place fraud alerts on our websites to warn you of known frauds – as soon as we know, you’ll know.
