If your American Express® Traveller's Cheques are lost or stolen, you’ll find the number of the local American Express® office in the wallet that your traveller's cheques came in. Or you can call the American Express® helpline on +44 1273 571 600 or 01273 693 555 if dialling from the UK.

You can get cash in an emergency by calling:

  • your Lloyds TSB branch, Monday to Friday (closed Bank Holidays),
  • +44 170 227 8270 outside branch hours.

Please note that obtaining emergency cash depends on the availability of funds in your account.

You'll need to:

  • report all facts of the loss or theft to the police if American Express® ask you to,
  • inform American Express® of the serial number of the lost or stolen Travellers Cheques and the place and date of their purchase,
  • complete the refund forms provided by American Express® and provide acceptable proof of your identity.

Give American Express® all the information and help they ask for to make a complete investigation of the loss or theft. American Express® reserves the right to investigate the loss or theft.
