How to use PhoneBank

You can call PhoneBank on 0845 3 000 000 and speak to our advisors or use our quick automated service, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. So whether you have a quick question or a complex transaction, you’ll get a fast answer.

When you call have your account number and sort code to hand. We'll also ask you for your Security Number or Password. If you don't have a Security Number you can give us one there and then - just think of a 6 digit number you'll easily remember. With PhoneBank you can:

  • check your balance,
  • check recent transactions,
  • sign up to receive free mobile Text alerts - weekly updates on your balance and up to six last transactions,
  • order foreign currency and travellers cheques,
  • arrange travel insurance,
  • enquire about your Direct Debits or set up standing orders,
  • arrange, change or cancel your overdraft*,
  • order a statement, new card, cheque book or paying-in book,
  • change your PIN,
  • ask us about our products and services – for example, apply for a loan, credit card** or savings account or ask about home or car insurance,
  • pay your bills,
  • make an appointment to visit your branch,
